Al-Munya
المُنْيَة
The Riad’s guest house — for guests of regard. Separate, discreet, few at a time.
Al-Munya is the neighbouring house reserved for those one neither refuses nor exhibits. It is not a hotel wing and is not visited as a tourist site. One is brought there.
Entrances, kitchens, staff and circulation are entirely separate from the Riad. The threshold between the two houses remains inviolable.

The spaces
Sqifa
Entrance vestibule. A threshold space that prevents a direct view of the interior.
Guest apartments
Private rooms with their own service. A limited number.
Apartment of honour
A unit of higher rank and greater generosity of space.
Salons
Closed rooms for quiet conversation.
Patio and hall
The heart of the house. Porticoed patio and main hall opening onto it.
Garden
With water, shade and paths. Integral to the whole.
Oratory
Prayer space, correctly oriented, overlooking patio and garden.
Dining room
Served by an autonomous kitchen, fully separate from the Riad’s.
Parlour
First reception space, distinct from every room of the Riad.
Service rooms
Accessible only to Al-Munya staff. Invisible to guests.
